Biography
Years of experience in the field of mental health has given me the tools and knowledge to work with clients in a specialised, safe, empathetic and structured way. The therapy is dedicated to the individuality of my clients and the aim is to transform the symptoms of suffering into a happier lifestyle. I am a fully qualified clinician, trained to Masters Level in Psychotherapy and Counselling.
One of the areas of psychotherapy I specialise in and feel very passionate about is the impact of trauma on addictions, and on this I have designed and delivered many personal development and therapeutic programmes. One of these programmes, ‘Emotional Regulation Skills Training (ERST)’ received The Irish Health Care of the Year Award in 2015.
In 2016 I was selected to present my psychotherapy research on ‘Patterns of Disclosure of Childhood Physical and Sexual Abuse among Substance Dependent Men’ at The Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration (SEPI) conference in Trinity College Dublin.
I take huge pride in providing a highly specialised, professional and confidential service, and my experience, training and qualifications enable me adapt my skills to the individual needs of the person.
My educational background and training has covered many modalities including:
- Cognitive Behavioural;
- Humanistic;
- Integrative;
- Psychodynamic;
- Person-centred therapies.
