The location of these two clinics is in Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare in Wales where all forms of painful musculoskeletal conditions are treated by this trained and experienced osteopath. Referrals are accepted from local GP practices and hospitals. High quality services are offered to patients of all ages at the clinic. A detailed initial assessment is conducted and a treatment plan formulated. The osteopath also provides exercise prescriptions and lifestyle advice to supplement osteopathic treatments. Conditions treated include joint and muscle pains and stiffness, repetitive strain injuries, whiplash, sciatica, tennis elbow, stress and muscular tension and frozen shoulder.

At DW Osteopathy we strive to provide exceptional quality of care; a unique, patient centred service that supports and suits the individual's needs.  WHAT TO EXPECT: During an initial consultation a thorough case history will be taken; including primary symptoms, time scale and onset. At the same time a past medical history will be taken with details of your current day to day lifestyle; this is all to get an idea of any potential underlying issues and regular activity patterns. This will be followed by an osteopathic examination. The osteopath will ask you to perform some gentle, simple movements whilst assessing muscle and joint quality to feel for any irregularities. Based on the information gathered in the examination the osteopath will arrive at a diagnosis. An explanation of the cause of the current problem will be provided and any remaining questions will be answered.  The osteopath will then proceed, with the patient's consent, to provide appropriate treatment. What is Reiki? Reiki is the name given to a system of natural healing commonly called ‘palm healing’. This ‘Universal Life Force Energy’ is channelled through the practitioner to the recipient and is an effective complimentary healing method. There is no belief system or religion attached to Reiki so anyone can receive a Reiki treatment. You will be asked to lie down (or sit if this is easier) and you will remain fully clothed.   Your practitioner will also give you some aftercare advice following your treatment. It is important you follow this advice to enable you to get the most from your treatment. You may also need further treatments of Reiki at another time, so try not to see treatment as a ‘quick fix’. Please note:      Reiki cannot and will not be used to diagnose. Reiki Practitioners are not trained in diagnosis or prognosis, only doctors may legally do this. If you are concerned about any symptoms you should always seek the advice of your doctor.
