I received excellent treatment

Osteopath Consultation

Susan - 16 May 2016

I received excellent treatment for my lower back pain from Simon Webborn, one of the therapists at the Swansea Clinic of Natural Medicine. I would highly recommend this clinic.
The Swansea Clinic of Natural Medicine was recommend to me by a friend, after I had been suffering with lower back pain. I was a little nervous because I had never received Osteopathic treatment before. There was no need for me to have been nervous, as both the receptionist and Simon the therapist put me at ease instantly. I received a comprehensive explanation of the the treatment from Simon, and he delivered my treatment in a very relaxed and professional manor. The Swansea Clinic of Natural Medicine was worth every penny and it will definitely be my first port of call in the future.

Already I feel more energetic and upbeat

4.5 50 Colonic Irrigation • Paid: £55

I booked a consultation and colonic hydrotherapy with Richard , and found him very informative about my initial problem , and also in ways to control my situation. In my opinion he went over and above to help me including changing my diet, what supplements I need. Already I feel more energetic and upbeat , whereas before i felt heavy, sluggish and generally downbeat . I would and am recommending thus clinic to my friends as excellent value for money , in a relaxed environment.

The clinic is in a terraced house, it is warm with an excellent and friendly receptionist . I chose this clinic as it provides all I need , and the prices are within my budget . Only problem is parking .

Mr Simon Webborn - at Swansea Clinic of Natural Medicine

Mr Simon Webborn

Biography:
As a practitioner of both Osteopathy and Acupuncture I can combine my knowledge from different philosophies to help treat patients. I use a combination of massage, manipulation, mobilisation, articulation and acupuncture. As well as the therapy I use taping, exercises, heel wedges and orthotics to help improve patients posture and balance and core strength. I qualified from B.S.O in 1986 with a diploma in Osteopathy D.O and became a member of the registered osteopaths in 1986 which after revalidification was re-issued 2001. I trained as an Acupuncturist in 1996 from the British Acupuncture College London and gained the qualification Lic.Ac the same year. I was head therapist for Neath Rugby Club 1986-91.Responsible for all on and off field injuries working with the team of Doctors, Orthopaedic Consultant (R.M.Davies) and Massage therapists. I have taught sport massage and sport injuries at Afon College and attained my basic teaching qualifications 1991. I was appointed a guest lecturer for Formthotics (an orthotic company from New Zealand) holding theory and practical workshops on behalf of Mobilis Healthcare.

Mr Sam Webborn

Biography:
Osteopathy is something that I have been aware of from a young age. Having an Osteopath for a dad, it was unavoidable in my childhood. Through having treatments myself and seeing him help others, it quickly became a goal of mine to be able to help people in the same way. Being a keen sportsman, involved in golf, football, tennis and cricket, the biomechanical aspect and holistic approach to improving the structure and functionality of the body in order to prevent injuries and optimise performance is where my initial passion for Osteopathy lies. However, I soon discovered that there is more to Osteopathy than just treating sportsmen and women. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Osteopathy with Honours from Oxford Brookes University. Working at the University clinic enabled me to treat a diverse range of patients with a diverse range of conditions, broadening and enhancing my skill set. Using a combination of spinal manipulation, soft tissue massage and muscle energy techniques along with giving exercise and strengthening programmes, I am able to treat a wide range of both acute problems and chronic conditions including back pain, neck pain, headaches, frozen shoulders, osteoarthritis, strains and sprains and many more.

Mr Mike Griffthis

Biography:
I have been working both around the UK and in New Zealand for nearly 20 years since graduating from the British School of Osteopathy in London in 1993. The course was a 4 year BSc in Osteopathy, during which time I worked in not only the outpatient clinic at the college but also the elective clinics (sports, expectant mothers and TMJ). I had previously attended a massage course at the London College of Massage and Shiatsu. Osteopathy and it’s effectiveness, first came to my attention when I accompanied my father on a visit to his Osteopath, for a lower back problem. Shortly afterwards I was to experience it first hand after an injury to my neck. Osteopathy once again came to my aid, in the form of Simon Webborn, when I was experiencing knee problems with my sporting activities, little did I know then we would end up working together at the Swansea Clinic. I still have a keen interest in sports and sports injuries and am very keen to keep people as active as is possible for their situation, at whatever level of competition or recreation suits them. I take part in triathlons, long distance cycle rides, runs of various distances and open water swims and therefore end up treating many people in these sports but have also treated some professional athletes in the fields of rugby, cricket, golf and squash. Having a like-minded view and having suffered from many of the same injuries helps me in understanding these patients and their needs.

Ms Sophie Morris

Biography:
I have always had an interest in health care and how the human body works. Before training as an Osteopath I completed a degree in Human Biology. This gave me an excellent understanding of the human body. However this did not fulfill my desire to work with people within a primary care role. I decided to train as an Osteopath as I wanted to work with and help people. It appealed to me because of its hands on approach in optimising healing of the body without the need for surgical or pharmaceutical intervention. My training at the British College of Osteopathy (BCOM) in London included a diploma in Naturopathy which looks at natural healing and optimising health through lifestyle factors. I very much enjoy practicing as an osteopath and making a difference to people, and reflect this with my commitment towards them.
