MD, FIPP Dr Shiv Pratap Singh Rana, a trained & certified Pain & Palliative Care specialist with more than 6 years of clinical experience. He was trained and awarded a Fellowship in Pain Medicine from Pain Management Centre, Singapore General Hospital Singapore (accredited by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) Faculty of Pain Medicine). He is also a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) from World Institute of Pain. He trained from Miraj for Endoscopic Spine Surgery and minimally invasive techniques. During initial years, he was trained in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and University Pain Clinic, Detroit, USA. Dr Rana started the Chronic and Interventional Pain Management Services at Fortis Hospital, Noida and Kosmos Hospital, Delhi. As its clinical director of the Chronic Pain unit, he established the various clinical programs such as back pain, cancer pain and interventional pain management techniques. Currently, Dr Rana is the In charge of Pain Clinic at Fortis Hospital, Noida. He has established knifeless surgery via “state of art”-specialized injections to treat various pain conditions (slipped disc, nerve compression, arthritis, frozen shoulder), bringing relief to thousands of patients. Professionally, Dr Rana is reviewer of three pub med index journals and has been a frequent speaker and faculty at conferences, international as well as local meetings, counting many lecturers in various aspects of pain treatment in orthopedic, neuropathic and oncological conditions. He received nomination award for “Pain Physician of India” for year 2012-13 during First World Symposium on Pain. Dr Rana was awarded Commonwealth Scholarship for pursuing Masters program in Palliative Medicine from Cardiff University, Wales, U.K.
