What is a Dental Implant?

Dental implants are artificial screws made of titanium or zirconium oxide that connect the jawbone and a dental restoration like a crown or denture. They are also called ‘endosseous’ implants or fixtures. They are an artificial tooth root. Once implanted, the implant integrates with the surrounding bone like part of the body. I'm a GP with 25 years experience and know a bit about healthcare provision. Simon's care was faultless. He arranged to see me with a difficult extraction by email almost instantly (my own dentist had suggested a maxillofacial surgeon as he was not prepared to do it). The procedure was impeccable. I felt no pain or suggestion that this was without his field of competency. I was surprised when it was over as I was waiting for the tough part. I was hugely impressed. A nice guy as well. He has my total faith. He is motivated to continue to improve (he is sitting a supplementary exam to enhance his qualifications) and would do well anywhere.

I have so much confidence in Dr Makhani and his team, I recently had some very difficult dentistry with a tooth extraction and the fitting of a bridge. I was extremely nervous but I couldn’t have been in better hands. Shahid Makhani had a very kind, gentle manner and was extremely professional. I can’t believe that I had no pain or discomfort and felt none of the injections or extraction. Dr Makhani made a wonderful bridge for me which is totally natural looking and comfortable. I would especially like to thank Mrs Makhani who could see I was anxious, she was so very kind and reassuring to me before and during my treatment. I very highly recommend Garden view Dental Care, they are a fantastic team.
