Most attentive staff that I've ever encountered at a dental office

5 50 Dental Bonding

The treatment was extremely good. The dentist was so gentle that I fell asleep in the chair. No issues after the work at all. I'm coming back when I have more time to get more work done. The staff was the most attentive staff that I've ever encountered at a dental office ever! They were superb!

The clinic was so much nicer that I had ever imagined. The place was clean. Well put together. Extremely professional! I enjoyed my visit so much that I'm coming back and planning my next vacation around another trip to the dentist. I never thought I'd ever say that!

Will return

5 50 Dental Crowns • Paid: ฿60

Excellent prompt service. Great crowns matching perfectly. Careful and concise work. Dentists and reception staff beyond expectations. Repeat visit will return. Only issue (which seems consistent with reviews) is cost of cleaning. Deep plane cleaning is a very methodical and lengthy process. Paid accordingly. Service scarcely delivered. Needs review and change at Clinic if to remain a viable option for tourists.

The forward planning of treatment was superb and reliable. The staff are professional, clinic notes impressive. Blood pressure and temperature check before treatments impressive. Follow up on treatment and query of satisfaction comforting. Highly recommended.

Professional, but expensive

1.9 50 Teeth Cleaning, Extractions • Paid: ฿250

deep clean and one extraction

There was a charge of A$250 for a deep clean and one tooth extraction - more expensive than Australia. Whilst professional, there are other dental clinics in Patong that are just as good, but much cheaper.

2.9 50 Root Filling, Teeth Cleaning

Root filling and deep clean

Sea Smiles seemed a bit disorganised, and I found the treatment expensive, but I may have been double charged for a root filling as I had a root filling and deep clean and the total was 595.77au
The dentists were awesome though - very gentle

4.7 50 Dental Crowns, Veneers, Zoom! Teeth Whitening • Paid: ฿1590648

3 x crowns and 1 x veneer

Hi.
I went to the Sea Smile dental clinic in Patong after reading the testimonials on this website. When I walked in I was reassured by the amount of Australians in the waiting room. The staff were very professional and the clinic was very clean and modern. I am very pleased with my 3 new crowns and 1 veneer. My adult son also had zoom whitening at a cost of about $270 Australian. I have recommended the clinic to several friends and one has already made an appointment. I will be going back next year for more crowns.

Dental Bridges

Dental crowns and bridges are a major part of our practice. We are one of the very few dental clinics in Thailand with its own in house dental laboratory, so nothing has to be sent out thus delaying your treatment.
฿10000 - ฿15000

Dental Crowns

As we age, many of us find ourselves with teeth that are no longer structurally sound. Root canals, lost fillings, decay below a filling, chipping and cracking of the enamel are all things that can lead to large scale defects in a tooths surface. A dental crown is needed when a tooth is badly broken down - either a cusp has broken off, or there are large old fillings or a large portion of decay. A filling is used to fill a small portion of the tooth - a crown when the tooth has extensive damage. There are basically two types of crowns, those all porcelain/ceramic (metal free) crowns and porcelain fused to metal crowns. Before the dental crown can be placed on the tooth, our dentist will file the tooth down to make room for your crown. Then an impression of the tooth and the surrounding teeth will be made. While the dental crown is being created, a temporary acrylic crown will be placed on the tooth. When the permanent dental crown is ready, the temporary crown is replaced during a separate visit. Dental crowns can last anywhere from averagely 10 to 20 years.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a small titanium screw-like fixture that serves as the replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth. The dental implant is placed in the bone of the upper or lower jaw. After the placement, the implant has to fuse with the bone (titanium is one of the best materials to integrate with natural bone) which can take a couple of weeks. Treatment time will vary depending on your situation. It is possible to get well functioning and esthetic looking teeth within a few days. In some cases it may be necessary to wait a longer time period before finishing the restoration in order to obtain the best results. Dental implants can be used to replace a single lost tooth or a number. Implant supported replacement teeth look, feel and function like natural teeth, they preserve the integrity of a facial structure and improve the look and function of a jaw. Once the screw-like fixture is safe, a dentist will screw in an actual dental implant that is made to look and replace natural tooth. Basically anyone who is missing one or more of their teeth due to injury, disease, or decay may be a candidate for dental implants. Sometimes if theres a number of teeth missing dental implants in conjunction with a crown or bridge can replace them. The rule of thumb is that if youre healthy enough to have a tooth extracted, youre probably healthy enough to receive dental implants.

Immediate Implant Placement

“Speedy Groovy™” implants have offered a solution for not only immediately replacing your teeth. These new Dental implants provide a stable foundation for a tooth replacement that looks, feels, and functions like your natural teeth immediately. Recently, much has been done on placing implants, loading them almost immediately, and then delivering replacement teeth within a few DAYS! With research showing that bone loves bonding with grooves, we have extended them to the collar of most new implants so they: Increase surface area, Increase area for bone-to-implant contact. TiUnite is the most significant breakthrough in Osseointegration today. The unique oxidized surface unites the biocompatibility of commercially pure titanium with an enhanced oxide surface and an optimized texture. TiUnite incorporates a multifaceted approach to influence the complex biological events that make osseointegration possible. Upon insertion, the early bone healing phase is enhanced by the textured titanium oxide surface. Textured surfaces are known to accelerate the initial healing phase through absorption of protein, the accumulation and activation of platelets, fibrin retention, and consequently an increased amount of surrounding bone.

Mini Implants

A removable full denture that is connected to either a ball or bar attachment, which in turn is anchored on two or more implants in the front part of the jaw.
The implants help keep the denture in place and provide better function and comfort. Cost is usually the reason why this solution is chosen over a fixed bridge - although the end result cant be compared.

Restoration of Implants

You will need to visit your dentist at least twice a year to have your implants, gum and jaws checked. Actual frequency of maintenance visits is largely dependent on your individual circumstance. The implants and crowns will be examined and cleaned with special instruments. X-rays are usually taken on an annual basis to assess bone health and implant stability. During such maintenance visits, daily care procedures are also reinforced.

Single Implant

Single Dental Implant is the most thoroughly documented implant treatment for dentistry in the world. The long-term safety of this solution is well established and published in recognized scientific journals. We will discuss with you how these treatment results apply to you.

Dentures

Complete or full dentures replace all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw. A denture helps you to properly chew food, a difficult task when you are missing teeth. In addition, a denture may improve speech and prevent a sagging face by providing support for lips and cheeks.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate denture is constructed before teeth are removed so that you will not be without any teeth. Constructing immediate dentures involves taking impressions (making copies) of your mouth before the teeth are removed. When your remaining teeth are removed the denture can be inserted immediately.

Overdentures

Overdenture is a denture that uses precision dental attachments to hold the denture down. The overdenture attachment can be placed in tooth roots that have been saved, or placed into dental implants which have been placed to receive them.

Removable Partial Dentures

Partial denture is a removable dental appliance that replaces multiple missing teeth. It can be attached to the teeth with clasps (clasp or conventional partial) or it can be attached to the teeth with crowns with precision attachments (hidden clasps). Both types have a metal framework and plastic teeth and gum areas.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars that most people get in their late teens or early twenties. Sometimes these teeth can be a valuable asset to the mouth when healthy and properly aligned, but more often, they are misaligned and require removal. When the jaw isn't large enough to accommodate wisdom teeth, they can become impacted (unable to come in or misaligned). Wisdom teeth may grow sideways, emerge only part way from the gum or remain trapped beneath the gum and bone. Wisdom teeth present potential problems when they are misaligned – they can position themselves horizontally, be angled toward or away from the second molars or be angled inward or outward. Poor alignment of wisdom teeth can crowd or damage adjacent teeth, the jawbone, or nerves. Wisdom teeth that lean toward the second molars make those teeth more vulnerable to decay by entrapping plaque and debris. In addition, wisdom teeth can be entrapped completely within the soft tissue and/or the jawbone or only partially break through or erupt through the gum. Teeth that remain partially or completely entrapped within the soft tissue and /or the jawbone are termed "impacted." Wisdom teeth that only partially erupt allows for an opening for bacteria to enter around the tooth and cause an infection, which results in pain, swelling, jaw stiffness, and general illness. Partially erupted teeth are also more prone to tooth decay and gum disease because their hard-to-reach location and awkward positioning makes brushing and flossing difficult.

Fillings

Tooth-colored fillings were created as an alternative to traditional metal dental fillings. Tooth fillings colored to look like a natural tooth are known as Composite Resin Dental Fillings and are made of a plastic dental resin combined with porcelain and glass particles. These types of fillings are, durable and are way more natural looking than amalgam fillings. If you have a cavity in a tooth or broken fillings or if your teeth are full of mercury fillings, or amalgam fillings you may want to ask your dentist about changing to Tooth-colored fillings. Mercury fillings or amalgam fillings can easily be removed and replaced with far more attractive colored fillings. Research shows that composite fillings actually strengthen your tooth and further protect it from decay. Tooth-colored fillings are a safer and more attractive alternative to older silver amalgam fillings. By precisely matching tooth-colored composite fillings with the natural color of your teeth, a skilled cosmetic dentist is able to provide you with white fillings that are virtually invisible. The removal of amalgam fillings can provide patients with white fillings that provide a more pleasing, silver-free smile.

Gum Surgery

A "gummy" smile can make teeth look short and unattractive. With the ease and comfort of an ordinary blade or a laser, gums can be reshaped to reveal a more appealing smile. With the new technology, not only can it quickly sculpt excessive and uneven gums, it also immediately seals the tissue, helping the patient to heal faster and more comfortably. This procedure can be completed in a single office visit. Gum recontouring is a safe, comfortable procedure. The dentist will first numb the gums with anesthetic. Then, with a laser light or ordinary blade, he or she will gently re-shape the gum line, sculpting excessive and uneven tissue. Our gum dentist will use either blade or a diode laser to sculpt your gum tissue. Like any laser, this intense beam of light cuts the tissue quickly. However, at the right setting, it will not affect the tooth structure surrounding and underneath the gums.

Invisalign™

Invisalign uses a series of clear removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. Invisalign® has been proven effective in clinical research and in orthodontic practices nationwide. In fact, over 70% of all U.S. orthodontists are certified to treat patients with Invisalign®. You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move - little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final position your orthodontist or dentist has prescribed. You'll visit your orthodontist or dentist about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

Root canals

Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth, it runs like a thread down through the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don't remove it, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. Root canal procedures are performed when the nerve of the tooth becomes infected or the pulp becomes damaged. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Root canal procedures have the reputation of being painful. Actually, most people report that the procedure itself is no more painful than having a filling placed. The discomfort experienced in the period leading up to a seeking of dental care is truly the painful period of time, not the root canal procedure itself. After the dentist removes the pulp, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Then our reconstructive dentist places a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger.

Teeth Cleaning

A spray of air and sodium bicarbonate and a water jet meet to quickly remove plaque and stains without pain. Much, much faster than conventional brushes, rubber cups, pastes and polishing strips, and much more thorough - without being abrasive. Plaque, soft deposits and discolorations disappear quickly and painlessly - even from very tiny areas.

Laser Teeth Whitening

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) breaks down to water (H2O) and a free oxygen radical (O) The smaller, less pigmented constituents by rapid oxidation. These compounds have double bonds and long carbon chains that are subsequently reduced to smaller carbon chains and hydroxyl groups, which eliminate discoloration. The initiation of bleaching occurs through the application of laser which emits monochromatic light at a specific wavelength absorbed by the catalyst molecules only, thus accelerating the release of activated bleaching molecules. Hydrogen peroxide, the most accepted active ingredient for in-office bleaching, does not decompose readily, which is partly why current bleaching procedures require lengthy visits. The“Truly” Laser tooth whitening has developed a Laser Gel that, when combined with hydrogen peroxide, becomes a solution responsive to specific laser wavelengths resulting in a rapid production of free oxygen radicals.

Veneers

Dental veneer, also known as porcelain veneer or ceramic veneer, will repair tooth that is discolored, worn down, chipped or broken, misaligned or irregularly shaped tooth, and tooth with cap. Dental veneer will provide you with a natural tooth appearance that will not affect or irritate your gum issue. Porcelain veneer is stain resistant, and can make dark teeth appear whiter. It offers a conservative approach to changing a tooths color and shape. Extensive shaping prior to the procedure that crown need is not required for veneer and is actually stronger and more esthetic than crown or bonding. Teeth are prepared for dental veneers by very lightly grinding to allow for the small added thickness of the veneer. Records are taken to determine the color, bite, length and shape of each dental veneer. An impression is also taken in the same visit for a replica model of the teeth. In the next visit, your custom made dental veneer is then placed directly onto your tooth to verify their perfect fit and the shade or color. The tooth is then cleansed to achieve a maximum bond. Once the dental cement is between the veneer and your tooth, a light beam is used to harden the cement.
