Breast Augmentation or Augmentation Mammaplasty
Breast augmentation with breast implants in Westchester County, New York by Dr. Greenwald involves placement of a saline or silicone implant behind the breast. Candidates for breast augmentation include women who seek to augment the size of their breast because they feel their breast size is too small, to correct a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy or weight loss, and to balance a difference in breast size. The implant is placed in a pocket created between the breast and the underlying pectoralis muscle (subglandular) or beneath the pectoralis muscle (submuscular). The implant is most commonly placed through minimal incisions located either in the fold beneath the breast (inframammary), at the junction of the areola with the skin of the breast (periareolar), or through the axilla (transaxillary). Most patients choose to have their breast implants placed through the inframammary or periareolar approach as these incisions provide the surgeon with the most precise control over implant placement.

Facelifts
A face lift or rhtyidectomy rejuvenates the face and neck by lifting wrinkled and sagging skin, sculpting drooping fat deposits and tightening deeper tissues (“SMAS”) which are loose. A facelift focuses on three primary areas: the jowls, the jaw line and central neck. Incisions are placed in natural creases to conceal scars. In Dr. Greenwald’s hands, no two facelift surgeries are the same. Each operation is customized to the needs and desires of the patient. For example, some patients may require a small incision under the chin to reapproximate the muscle cords in the neck. Other patients may simply require recontouring the fat in the neck without manipulating the superficial muscles in the neck (ie platysmaplasty). For patients whose main concern is there neck, a neck lift can be performed as an isolated procedure. Through a small incision under the chin, the soft tissues of the neck can be recontoured and the muscles reapproximated in the midline. During a neck lift, small incisions are made around the ear lobe and behind the ear to allow for redraping of the neck skin. This operation is well suited and quite popular for male patients seeking facial rejuvenation.

Prominent Ear Surgery or Otoplasty

Nasal Reshaping or Rhinoplasty
The rhinoplasty procedure is typically performed as outpatient surgery, and can be done for both cosmetic and functional (breathing) issues. Dr. Greenwald typically uses an "open rhinoplasty" technique to best visualize the underlying nasal framework, however, under certain circumstances, Dr. Greenwald may elect to perform a "closed rhinoplasty". Dr. Greenwald believes that the open rhinoplasty technique allows for the most precise correction nasal structure. After sculpting the nasal bones and cartilage, and refining the nasal features, the patient will have a nasal splint applied for 5 days. Some patinents may have mild bruising and swelling after nasal surgery, however this tends to resolve quickly. Patients typically resume normal activities within one week.

Thigh Lifts and Reductions

Tummy Tuck or Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty also known as tummy tuck was the fourth most common procedure performed by plastic surgeons in 2006. Dr. Greenwald routinely performs abdominoplasties and tummy tucks at his Westchester County, New York plastic surgery practice. Candidates for abdominoplasty are those patients with excess skin and fat of their abdomen. Basically there are three components to abdominoplasty: skin excision, liposuction, and muscle repair. The extent of each of these parts will be individualized for you. During abdominoplasty surgery, the excess skin and fat from the abdomen are removed, the underlying separation of the rectus muscles (“rectus diastasis” is repaired to tighten the waistline and excess fat is removed by a combination of direct excision and liposuction. Every effort is made to keep the resultant scar concealed in a patient’s undergarment.
