Breast Augmentation or Breast Enlargement, is a procedure designed to produce larger and more shapely breasts. Breast implants filled with either silicone or saline are placed behind the breast or chest wall muscles in order to achieve the desired appearance. Breast augmentation surgery is performed under general anaesthetic and does not require the patient to stay overnight.

There is certain criteria that needs to be met including significant droop experienced after childbirth.The breast lift is often combined with other procedures, for example; many women with large breasts opt to have a breast reduction at the same time. If you have small, sagging breasts that have lost volume over the years, a breast lift with implants will enhance the size and firmness of your breasts, lifting them to their original position. The results look amazing.The breast lift procedure begins with an incision made around the areola (the dark circle of skin surrounding the nipple) and down to the curve of the breast. This is sometimes referred to as a "lollipop" incision. No horizontal scars are used in this procedure by Dr. Doyle allowing quicker healing time with minimal scarring.Excess skin and tissue are trimmed away and the breasts are tightened and lifted around the newly contoured breast. The nipples will be repositioned to create the most natural-looking results.A breast lift is considered an extremely safe, effective procedure. The procedure takes 2 to 3 hours to complete under general anaesthetic and is usually a day stay in hospital. Most women are able to return to work within 2 to 3 weeks. Strenuous exercise and heavy lifting should be avoided for 6 weeks.

Breast Augmentation has multiple factors that come into play. The size and type (silicone gel or saline) of the implant is one of the main decisions made by the patient and depends on their personal preferences and their desired outcome. Furthermore, the type of implant surface (smooth or textured) and the shape (tear drop or round) also needs to be decided upon which ultimately rests with the patients desires. Finally, the surgical option (under or over the muscle) will be chosen and depends on the individual’s personal preferences.

Mastopexy is the medical name for a "breast uplift"operation - from masto meaning breast and - pexy meaning lift. Many patients find that with the passage of time, children, and breasting feeding that the shape of their breasts changes adversely. This is made worse by gravity, often leading to soft, droopy, unsightly breasts. True mastopexy operations do not change the volume of the breast tissue but produce a more desirable shape. There have been several different mastopexy operations described in the surgical literature. Essentially, all these operations work by moulding the existing breast tissue into a better shape higher on the chest wall. Subsequently, the loose skin is tightened and then re-draped around the new breast with repositioning of the nipple. If a larger breast volume is desired in addition, a breast augmentation can be performed at the same time as the mastopexy.
